President Ray Fast welcomed everyone to the meeting and wished them all a Happy New Year. He said the Christmas party had been well attended and seemingly a great success.
Ray said that the new Snowshoeing group coordinated by Steve Horn was a great success; twelve of them had been out last Monday on their second trip up the mountains since they had started. He also said that Evelyn Rawcliffe was reviving the Book Group.
Ray commented that there had been 12 new members since our November Gathering. He welcomed the new members who were present, Nancy Brown and Ron Watkins, and their guest Robyn Rogers, who signed up today to become a member.
Ray then introduced Keith Millard and Tony Nicol who were profiling the Photography group at this month’s
Gathering. Tony spoke of what the group hoped to achieve and mentioned some of the topics they planned
to cover in the coming months. Keith then mentioned that they would be using videos as a teaching aid and
showed a typical 3 minute video of the type they planned to use.
Keith then introduced this month’s speaker, welcoming Steve Williamson, a wild life photographer who
talked about his adventures and shared his stunning wild life photos. Three of these photos (from Steve's website) are shown below.
President Ray thanked Steve for his presentation and gave him a copy of the Glacier Print.
Ray then drew for the door prize which this month was won by Murray Lindmann. Ray thanked everyone for coming and wished them a safe journey home.
