Last Saturday, 10 intrepid riders set off from Nymph Falls Parking lot on Forbidden Plateau Road to do a Backroads Loop of the Browns River. After climbing many hills on old logging roads, we reached our first major bridge crossing of the day (see picture) over the Browns River.
Then, we carried on to our next bridge crossing over Wattaway Creek but alas, there was no bridge!
After some deliberation, some resourceful souls found a rugged trail down to the Creek. Whereupon, Cathy Schneider took the bull by the horns and jumped into the icy cold stream. After scouting the surrounding territory, she returned to inform us that indeed there was a trail on the other side which went up the hill to the road we were looking for ! Once on the other side, it was a delightful downhill ride to our starting point.
A good day was had by all.
