The Birding Group finished out the season on a high note, with a visit to the Leche home on Robinson Lake. Participants spent the morning wandering around the property, admiring all the flowers and enjoying the birds and the bees. Rick and Donna were the perfect hosts, providing info on their plants and identifying the birds for us. Coffee and tea were appreciated during the one showery interval. Debbie was the happy recipient of a bag full of plant clippings to add to her garden. What a morning! Thank you so much for having us all, Donna and Rick.
Birds noted were: Pine Siskins, Purple Finches, American Goldfinches, Cedar Waxwing, Black-headed Grosbeaks, European Collared Dove, Violet-green Swallows, Tree Swallow, Bald Eagle, Rufous Hummingbirds, Western Slope Flycatcher, Song Sparrows, Swainson's Thrush, Red-breasted Nuthatch, Blackbird, Mallards and Stellar Jay. Checking out Katie's photos, we added one more to the list: Red Crossbills. Good on ya for sighting them, Katie!
