It was a spectacular fall day to hike to Maple Lake. Our fearless leader, Bill, couldn't join us because of a minor knee injury, but being the intrepid group that we are, we forged on undaunted. We started at Drac's Castle and ventured 14km on mostly dry paths carpeted with colourful fallen leaves. Though beautiful and fun to scuff your feet through as we hiked, the leaves did, at times, produce some navigational difficulties when trying to stay on the trail. We found our way however and were rewarded with lunch on the shores of an incredibly beautiful lake. Lucky us, Gord had cycled in to join us and he brought chocolate! That was a double win! We retraced our route back to arrive safely at our cars.
As usual there was good fun and lots of laughter within the group with high fives capping off a very enjoyable outing.
