We are pleased to report that in the 4 weeks our website has been active it has received over 1,500 visits, more than 50 per day. Our prospective members list has grown to 111, and 34 member Applications forms and cheques have already been received, in addition 49 members have taken the Activity Groups Survey and many have indicated their willingness to help lead an activity group.
We encourage everyone to continue referring their friends who might be interested in joining Glacier Probus Club to visit the website, for prospective members to send in their Applications, and for everyone to take the two surveys that are on the website.
The Steering Committee has decided to hold the first Annual General Meeting and to elect an Executive Board at the November 7th club meeting, and this enables us to concentrate on the September 5th first official meeting to be an enjoyable social event and to meet your Activity Group fellow members. More details will be forthcoming soon.
As always, we welcome your questions and comments, just use the Contact Us: tab to tell us you want to be added to the Club or to ask a question, make a suggestion, etc.
We are looking for some members to assist the Steering Committee prepare and conduct the first official meeting (Welcoming Committee, Refreshments Committee, Registration Table, etc.). If you are interested in helping, please use the Contact Us: tab and let us know. And thanks, this is going to be a blast for all of us!
New website changes are shown below;
- Thanks to comments in the Activity Group surveys, 8 additional Activity Groups have been added. For those who have already taken the survey, we urge you to take it again and look at the new groups, and if you haven't taken the survey yet please do so, and also use the Comments section to let us know if you are willing to lead or help lead a group, and which groups that would be.
- Monthly update information for members will be posted in this Communications section, the Activity Groups Blog, and the Membership Blog. It is our intention to NOT issue a monthly detailed newsletter, but encourage you to visit the website frequently to see what is happening. As we "get rolling" for real, the Calendar will be updated by all the Activity Group leaders to show their group activity schedules, and we may even add a Blog section for some of those groups. Note that the first tentative Travel Group function has already been added for September 20.
- A large number of Activity Group surveys have shown an interest in the Travel Group (29 of 49), and we have asked our Travel Pro to help develop a couple of travel functions for September as well as several longer term ideas. A new Travel Group Survey webpage is available under the More tab, and we recommend that everyone interested in the Travel Group should take the survey as soon as possible. If you like it but haven't signed up for the Travel Group, well, take the Activity Groups Survey as well and add yourself into the Travel group! Note that we have to have a minimum of 20 people signed for the Wine & Cheese sunset cruise by July 14 to hold the reservation.
- The Members List has been modified to show those who have submitted their Application forms and cheques in black ink while the prospective members will stay in blue ink.
