Wine and Appies Group:
The Wine and Appies group is one of the largest in the club, and currently has over 80 members. This in itself creates a problem, as many people who offer to act as hosts have different sizes and layouts of homes which can limit how many people can attend.
The following information might be useful for both hosts and members:
The Wine and Appies group is one of the largest in the club, and currently has over 80 members. This in itself creates a problem, as many people who offer to act as hosts have different sizes and layouts of homes which can limit how many people can attend.
The following information might be useful for both hosts and members:
- The group meets once per month, usually about the second Friday of the month. However this day is moveable to suit the needs of the host.
- The email invitation to attend is sent out from the host to all members of the group, and if you wish to attend please answer the email to the address provided (DO NOT JUST HIT "REPLY"!)
- If you ask to attend but then find that you cannot, please advise the host as soon as possible. You will understand that it would not be fair if we have to limit numbers, and we have a "wait list", for members to not turn up when someone else could have filled your place. This courteous notification will assist the host with their preparations and it will also provide those on the wait list with the opportunity to attend in your absence.
- The evening starts at 6:00pm, and each guest brings a beverage of their choice together with an Appie. Nobody is expected to bring enough to feed the masses, just a nice plateful!
- As a courtesy to the host we do ask members to remove their shoes at the door.
- The Wine and Appies group has operated every month since starting up, and has organised a Winery Tour and a Brewery Tour as well as an annual beachside evening in August. So if you are looking for good food, wine and conversation look no further.
