A group of Birders headed to the Airpark early Sunday afternoon to check on how the birds were enjoying a crisp but sunny day in the snow. They were quite content to go about their business, thank you very much! We did notice though, that a fair number were fluffing up their feathers for more warmth and who could blame them! Our total count was twenty-three species: Trumpeter Swans, Canada Geese, Buffleheads, gulls, Mallards, American Wigeons, Killdeer, Gadwells, Common Goldeneyes, Great Blue Herons, Common Mergansers, American Coot, Green-winged Teals, Bald Eagle, White-crowned Sparrows, Golden-crowned Sparrows, Fox Sparrows, Song Sparrows, Spotted Towhees, Brewer's Blackbirds, American Crows, European Starlings and Bewick's Wren.
