The birding group had an enjoyable final outing-of-the-Season on the 21st, accepting an invitation from Rick and Donna Leche to visit their home on Robinson Lake (Black Creek). What a lovely property! Donna has devoted long hours and much thought to developing an amazing garden that has proven to be very attractive to birds, bees and butterflies (as intended) and the results are well worth the effort. Okay, I'm sure Rick helped out! We spent the morning wandering the grounds and along the lake, checking out the winged visitors and admiring the flowers. Before departure, the Leches had us in for tea, coffee and squares. What a deal! Thank you so much for the day, Donna and Rick... it was so appreciated by us all.
Birds noted during the morning: Purple Finches, American Goldfinches, Robins, Mallards, Anna's Hummingbirds, Redbreasted Sapsucker, Vultures, Eagles, Tree Swallows, Violet-green Swallows, Flicker and Swainson's Thrush.
You will want to check out Bill Jorgensen's PHOTOS of the morning's visit - lovely! Thank you, Bill.
