Two groups led by two Bills, Jorgensen and Boham set out to conquer the two summits of Mt Washington. This new route for our group took us very steeply in an almost straight line to the main summit. This was a longer stretch of near vertical scrambling than we have taken on before. After enjoying fantastic views from the highest summit we were soon descending to a ridge then climbing to what the resort calls Little Mt Washington. The resort trail map showed a viewpoint not too far beyond so we carried on. We never did find the viewpoint but did find a route back up to the ridge and the climb back up to the main summit. Our trip down the mountain on Linton's Trail had a comfortable grade and a nice mix of forest and meadows. All together we climbed 726 metres, about 70 metres more than Mt Becher and we covered 11 kilometres.
