Plan A:
Drive about 3 kilometers inland from Oyster Bay on Iron River Road, then hike south to the Oyster River mountain bike trails.
We had to abandon that plan when Iron River Road ended in what appeared to be private property within a kilometer of the highway.
Plan B:
Park at the end of Glenmore Road where we have accessed the trails in the past. Instead of walking up the haul road (that bears many discouraging signs) to reach the top of the ridge, we would head immediately to the trails and climb up the ridge on one of the single track trails.
Plan B worked much better. Our route to the top of the ridge was very steep but doable. Once up top on the Smugglers Ridge trail our route was much the same as we have done in the past.
