On Friday, a group of hikers headed to Hornby Island to tackle Mt Geoffrey's trail system once more. In the past, we've hiked in a clockwise direction; this time, we went counter-clockwise. As you can see from our hike map, the resulting route rather takes on the appearance of a praying mantis! The overlapping areas were at different elevations, with the summit located at the end of the 'praying' legs. Lots of uphill to tackle, but plenty of level ground/downhill on which to catch one's breath. It all gave a good workout. We ate our bagged lunches just below the summit, overlooking Denman and Vancouver Islands - what a beautiful view!
Our usual 'debrief' was held at Roy's Towne Pub, where the competition was fierce between Katie and Lindsay as to whose bowl of salted edamame would be emptied first (with the help of others).
