An iffy weather forecast took a turn for the better this morning and we ended up with ideal hiking weather - mixed skies and temperatures on the cool side for the initial uphill climbs. How lucky can you get!? It's been a year since our last foray out this way (up to the summit of Nikkei Mt, via the Cumberland mountain-biking trail system), so there were a few short stops to figure out the many trail junctions...and I'm sure various participants were just as happy to have the short breathers! Most of the route was flat, but the uphill sections provided a challenge that I'm sure our cardiovascular systems appreciated while our dexterity abilities were challenged by the downhill sections. We still need to work on locating trails on the return-route which are less steep and loose under-foot. All in all, though, an interesting hike enjoyed by all.
