The Nile Creek trail south of Bowser was the destination for Thursday's hike; the outing was well attended with 16 participants. Walkie-talkies come in handy under those conditions! It was sunny with warm (not hot) temperatures - just right for hiking and we all enjoyed the opportunity to stretch our legs over one of our favourite trails. We met a number of volunteers along the way, members of a working bee that are upgrading the trail conditions with new wood steps over muddy patches, new little bridges, etc., and we made sure of expressing our appreciation of the work they do at maintaining the route. Lunch was at our usual spot (by a waterfall and pool) - we felt lucky to have it to ourselves as we knew several other groups were on the trail ahead of us. Most of the group headed for the Roy's Towne Pub in Royston at hike's end to relive the hike over refreshments. There, we felt a bit smug when a rain squall hit...good timing on our part!
