Anthopocene: The Human Epoch
Our movie group has grown and we are all very much enjoying the Comox Art Gallery's Film Series. Film number three was the award winning "Anthopocene: The Human Epoch" . This documentary was brilliantly filmed and executed. The film makers set out to show what human activity has done to this planet, from ivory poaching to logging. The thoughtful handling of this film leads the viewer to the inevitable conclusion that we must stop harming the environment. However, it is not preachy. It does it with a gentle hand that allows the cinema goer to make up his or her own mind. This movie earned a covetted 100% approval on Rotten Tomatoes.
After we lightened up at the new restaurant at the casino, called Match. This new pub-like dining establishment has a great menu and a nice atmosphere. All 17 of us enjoyed our meals while we chatted about the movie.
