A sunny, warm or should I say hot summer day for this exploratory walk on Newcastle Island. Several of us were new to the island or walked it awhile ago. All of us welcomed the breeziness that kept us comfortable for this walk. After departing from the ferry, we headed towards Brownie Bay. Following the Shoreline trail led us to Kanaka Bay. The scenic views along the way are amazing. Our group of twelve decided to go inland past Mallard Lake. Then we had a brief walk along a narrow trail at Midden Bay before retracing our steps. Next, it was the Channel Trail. A short snack break at the Sandstone Quarry and back to the Channel Trail, which had a few gentle upward slopes. We were back just in time to catch the reserved ferry. Thanks to Dawn and Cheryl for pictures.
