President Katie welcomed the 60 people in attendance and specifically welcomed new members: Linda Glanville and Pam Phelps and guests. She also introduced Victor Owen, the new Geneology Group Coordinator.
Katie announced that the management team had begun to prepare for the AGM in June and accordingly announced she was stepping down at that time and there would be a shuffle and as a result, a couple of positions would be opening up. She asked members to think seriously about contributing to the ongoing success of our club by becoming a member of the management team. Any members wanting to discuss the possibilities and what is required are to speak with Katie.
Michelle Morton announced that she was organizing the PRISMA Symphony cruise on Saturday, June 23rd as a Special Event. There will be a Special Events Expression of Interest page on our website with all the available details shortly. The deadline for Expression of Interest is March 30th.
Members Involvement: Donna Crozier introduced us to some basics about harp strings and entertained the group by playing three songs. Thank you to Donna for being brave enough to be the first to step forward to share one of her passions!
Paul Horgan, the chairman of Project Watershed delivered an interesting and encouraging presentation on Project Watershed and rehabilitating the ols sawmill site on Dyke Road.Kathy Haig, the fund raising Director for project watershed informed the group of possible ways they can contribute to the successof the project.
Winners of this month door prizes were Ian Thompson - a gift certificate to Boston Pizza, and Jeanne Hall- a gift certificate to Whitespot.
