Martha was a stunt woman for many films in the 1950s and 1960s. She won “The Golden Boot” (the Oscar of Western films) for her stunt work in “The Big Country” when she doubled for both Jean Simmons and Carol Baker. Martha gave us an interesting and humorous glimpse into life as a stunt woman. When asked if she had met Elvis Presley she said she had worked on his first film and described him as ‘a love’.
